GATHER THESE SUPPLIES
- 2 Sterling silver fishhooks with ball detail
- 4 Bloodstone squares
- 2 Sterling silver headpins with ball detail
- 0.4mm Half hard sterling silver wire
- Round nose pliers
- Chain nose pliers
- Cutters
STEP BY STEP
1 Cut two lengths of 0.4mm wire measuring 15cm each then begin wrapping the base of the headpin with both wires, coil about three times.
2 Thread a bloodstone square onto the headpin, take each piece of 0.4mm wire over the bloodstone square diagonally so you have a ‘criss-cross’ effect.
3 Wrap both strands of 0.4mm wire above the bloodstone square for a few coils then thread on another bloodstone square.
4 Take the wire over this stone to get a criss-cross effect, then wrap above the stone a few times. Trim the wire with cutters and press in any loose ends with the chain nose pliers.
5 Trim the headpin so you have roughly just under a cm of wire left at the top and turn a loop with the round nose pliers.
6 Open the loop on the fishhook and thread on the beaded component. Repeat for the other earring.
