Create a charming chain and bead necklace

Make Helen Harle’s pretty chain and bead linked necklace.

INTRO
This quick and easy project uses some wonderful black chain to create a stylish long necklace. This item matches Helen’s lovely projects as featured in Augusts Designer Challenge feature in Beads & Beyond.

GATHER THESE SUPPLIES

  • 7 large purple glass beads
  • 14 bead caps
  • 6 black eyepins
  • 1 black headpin
  • 1 black toggle clasp
  • 2 black jumprings
  • 50cm black chain

Here’s how
  1. Thread a bead cap, a large purple glass bead and another bead cap onto a black eyepin. Turn a loop at the end using round nosed pliers. Repeat to make six beaded eye pins.
  2. Thread a bead cap, a large purple glass bead and another bead cap onto a black headpin. Turn a loop at the end using round nosed pliers.
  3. Cut your chain into eight 6cm lengths and rejoin four pieces with three of the beaded eyepins. Repeat with the other four pieces.
  4. Add one part of the toggle clasp to one end of each chain using jumprings. Join the chain in the centre front using the beaded head pin dangle.
